Sunrise in Polichrono Chalkidiki

Last night I had no sleep, thanks to a late coffee at the beach (remember never to do that again – but it’s hard to avoid that in Greece 🙂 ) So the sunrise found me sleepless, but nevertheless eager for the day to come. So I decided to take a stroll with my amazing dog “Sumitsa”.

I love my dog. She is so amazing, that when I called her to go for a walk, she looked at me with one eye open from her little dog bed. Then I showed her her leash, but still no reaction. Finally, after a gentle push, she decided she didn’t want to come so I left her in peace and accepted that I would walk alone. Well, I tell you one thing. She missed a beautiful sunrise. The photos below are so poor describing the feeling. The fresh smell of the sea, the warmth I could feel as the sun was rising. The sound of the waves and the birds waking up. Some seagulls started a morning party. 🙂

At the back you can see the famous mount Athos. A place devoted to God and where women are not allowed as it is inhabited only by Orthodox monks. And a small island called Kelifos. A beautiful place with two beaches that are small, but have crystal clear waters and their own unique beauty.

Well, I have to start my day now and what a way to start a day in Majestic Greece! 🙂
